Privacy at Buzzer

Buzzer stores only what is needed to create music links, secure accounts, and count outbound redirects.

Account data

Anonymous sessions use a temporary Better Auth user and a session cookie. Registered accounts store a name, email address, password hash, and session records. Buzzer never stores plaintext passwords.

Link data

We store the release title, artist, artwork URL, source URL, destination URLs, status, and ownership needed to publish and manage a smart link.

Click analytics

When a listener chooses a music service, Buzzer records the smart link, destination, service, timestamp, and the two-letter country code supplied by Cloudflare. We do not persist raw IP addresses, city, coordinates, full user-agent strings, page views, or unique-listener identifiers.

External services

Creation may ask Songlink/Odesli and supported music-service metadata endpoints for public release information. Cover images load only from allowlisted music-service image hosts, which receive a normal image request. Opening a destination takes the listener to that music service, whose own privacy terms then apply.

Your choices

Anonymous management access is tied to the browser session and cannot be recovered if the cookie is lost. Registering transfers those links to the account. Account deletion and data-export support can be requested from the operator listed in the deployment documentation.
